The Middletown Teachers Association, NYSUT local 2831, is a body of 703 members in six buildings in Middletown, NY. Our buildings include Maple Hill Elementary School, Presidential Park Elementary School, William A. Carter Elementary School, Monhagen Middle School, Twin Towers Middle School, and Middletown High School.
Our Executive Board, which meets twice a month, is comprised of four officers-President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, one Senior Building Representative(SBR) for each building and an Affiliate-at-Large Representative.
In addition to our Executive Board, our unit also has a Representative Council which meets once a month. Our Representative Council is comprised of the Executive Board members and one Representative(Rep) elected for every 15 teachers within a building.(The SBR is then elected from the body of Reps.)
